Your First Visit

If you're a first-time visitor at Full Potential Sports Care, you'll need to give us some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.

A bit of paperwork

We will need to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. Our staff is happy to assist you with the paperwork.

Consultation
During your first consultation with the doctor, you'll discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options.

History and examination
In order to pinpoint the problem, the doctor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-rays
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you. If X-rays are required to assess the condition further, you will be given a prescription to go to your local radiology office for this service.

Same-day treatment
Patients will generally undergo their first treatment on their first visit after the examination.

Home instructions
Before leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.

Scheduling the next appointment

Regular treatment is essential to the process. We work our treatments around your schedule. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days of their initial visit and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed at this time.
